Membership in the Friends of International Education, a non-profit, statewide organization, is open to all. Members include staff and faculty at post-secondary institutions, school principals and teachers, corporations, and citizens who believe in the need for global perspectives in Wisconsin's schools and communities. The latter are often (but not limited to) Peace Corps returnees, exchange student hosts, first and second generation immigrants, the parents of children adopted from other countries, and so on. * Membership is free for all students--education majors are encouraged to add this to their resume. * Honorary membership may be granted to those providing significant leadership for international education at their school or in their community (details below). Membership benefits include: * Updates on state, national, and worldwide news related to international education. * Participation in online "chats" on international education and global issues, some featuring guest experts. * The receipt of listserve announcements and the use of the listserve for announcements of your own (with approval from the Communication Committee). * Use of the bulletin board and chat room on our website for posting questions and information, holding meetings, and participating in special discussions. * Receipt of an electronic newsletter full of information and opportunities. * Special invitations to all meetings and events, and opportunities for leadership. * The knowledge that you are supporting international education for a more worldly Wisconsin. ____ Enclosed is a check for $25 (individual membership) or $100 (school or organization--include the names of 5 persons below). ____ I am a student.
